Most people will or should have heard of the auction site eBay as its one of the best places to go if you want to pick up a bargain or you have something to sell. By default you utilise a web-based interface on your computer or a compact mobile version on your phone’s web browser, but having used the dedicated Android app we can honestly say this is one of the best ways to experience the auction site! eBay has done a cracking job and produced an inviting and intuitive interface that packs in all the features you will need, right in front of you. The eBay app on your Android device is an all-access pass to the world’s largest marketplace. With it, you’re able to conveniently manage all of your eBay activity on the go. So no matter where you are, you can find everything you’re looking for and everything you never knew you wanted.
Immediately you can access your profile to see your feedback score or get an overview of what items you are currently watching or have bought/sold. Selling items is even easier than the desktop version as you can tap into a barcode reader (which incidentally is powered by its own RedLaser app, one of the more accurate readers on the market). After scanning, the app fills in most of the fields/details you need for the item, leaving you with very little to add for the sale part – providing the item actually has a barcode. The barcode reader can also be used when searching for items, for example if you are out shopping, you can compare the price of items to the ones listed on eBay, by simply scanning the barcode in the shop.
Searching is also made easier by the handy sort feature, which in most cases is the same as you find on the desktop version. Items themselves are displayed in a list format, clearly stating the time left on the auction, the current bid, payment details and the condition of the items. On the top-left corner you can also view product images. Using the options below the listing you can quickly add items to your watch list or tell a friend via the share link (as it opens up Gmail). What’s also useful is being able to see a description of the seller, which is a key factor when making any purchasing decision so you can see their feedback score and if you need to be wary!
Of course you can also purchase items and place bids directly on your handset too. eBay Mobile is certainly a great app and as it is free you would be mad not to use it if you are a regular buyer/seller or simply want to get hold of the odd bargain around birthday/holidays.
The eBay app is packed full of features that make it easy to browse, buy, sell and manage your eBay experience whenever and wherever you are!
