The Latest version of Flappy Bird 1.3 is update on May 24, 2013. Flappy Bird is a game where you tap the screen to make the bird fly. This is a frustrating game to some people, as if you hit a pipe, your bird falls and you restart the game. However, some people believe that not fully focusing on the game or focusing only on the bottom pipe helps you get a higher score. This has not been proven to be true. Sadly, this game can no longer be downloaded on any device. On March 11, Dong Nyugen said he may consider bringing it back. Flappy Bird is a side-scrolling mobile game featuring 2D retro style graphics. The objective is to direct a flying bird, which moves continuously to the right, between each oncoming set of pipes without colliding with them, which otherwise ends the game. The bird briefly flaps upward each time the player taps the screen. If the screen is not tapped, the bird falls due to gravity. The player is scored on the number of pipe sets the bird successfully passes through, with medals awarded for the score. There is no variation or evolution in gameplay throughout the game as the pipes always have the same gap between them and there is no end to the running track, having only the flap and ding sounds and the rising score as rewards. However, some subtle elements of the gameplay design make the game easy to learn but hard to master, a technique used in many games to make them more interesting.
Flappy Bird received generally mixed reviews from critics, with a Metacritic score of 52/100 based on seven reviews. The app was criticized by the Huffington Post, which described it as “insanely irritating, difficult and frustrating game which combines a super-steep difficulty curve with bad, boring graphics and jerky movement”. The game’s difficulty has been a source of ire for many users, with one user stating that it took him half an hour to achieve a score of five points. It is slightly easier on Android than on iOS, according to its creator.
Once installed, the only game mode in Splashy Fish takes place in blue-colored water with low gravity.
After the fish has been maneuvered to go through twenty consecutive pillars, a much more challenging mode known as “Extreme Mode” is unlocked. This mode takes place in red-colored waters, features much higher gravity levels, and can be played after clicking the button at the start of the game.
An easter egg can be used by tapping on the screen with three fingers, each just after the other. If the sound on your mobile device is on, the “8-bit sound effects” can be heard. To switch back to the “16-bit sound effects” you must triple-tap again.
